CARPATHIAN REGION. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 13.20 g, 11 h), 'Baumreiter' type, imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to left, wearing helmet with large S-form crest terminating in annulet and holding branch in his right hand; before, small animal; below, small pellet and floral ornament. Dembski 1085a. Flesche 691 var. Lanz 419. OTA 129/3-4. SLM 1268 var. Nicely toned. Slightly rough, otherwise, about extremely fine.
